Newfoundlander wanted on national arrest warrant for violent offenses surrenders himself
A Newfoundlander wanted under a Canada-wide warrant surrendered to police.
RCMP say Jesse William Lewis, 23, of Avondale, attended the Bay St. George detachment last night.
Lewis’s arrest warrant was issued earlier this week after he left a halfway house in Stephenville and failed to return as required.
In 2019, he was sentenced to five years in prison in connection with a series of incidents including a carjacking.
Lewis was on parole for several serious convictions, including armed robbery, assault with a weapon, assaulting a police officer, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, dangerous driving and other offenses.

Bay St. George RCMP are looking for a 23 year old male who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
Jesse William Lewis of Avondale was sentenced to five years in prison at the end of 2019 in connection with a series of incidents including a carjacking a year earlier.
