Wrest Park at War
Wrest Park at War
Auberon Herbert, 9th Baron Lucus Wrest Park, always known as Bron, offered his country house-Wrest Park-for use as a hospital during World War One in August 1914.
Wrest was first used as a convalescent home before being transformed into a base hospital in November.
Dr Andrew Hann, Properties Historian Team Leader for English Heritage, presented to the South Midlands day school on 21 November a case study about Wrest Park. His power point slides are attached. Wrest Park Hospital short version
